Buick Regal: Rear Brake Hose Replacement (GNC)

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Dust Warning

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

3.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pipe Fitting(1) - Disconnect.

4. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

5.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Hose Retainer(1) - Remove.

6.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Remove.

7.

Hydraulic Brakes

NOTE: Do NOT reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.

Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (1)@ Brake Hose Fitting (2) - Remove and DISCARD[2x].

8. Plug the caliper inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

9. Remove the brake hose.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the brake hose to the vehicle.

2.

Hydraulic Brakes

NOTE: Install NEW brake hose fitting gaskets.

Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (1)@ Brake Hose Fitting (2) - Install[2x].

Hydraulic Brakes

CAUTION: Fastener Caution

Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

4.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Hose Retainer(1) - Install.

5.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pipe Fitting(1) - Install and tighten 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

6. Bleed the brake system.

7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.

REAR BRAKE HOSE REPLACEMENT (GNQ)

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Dust Warning

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

3. Partially remove the rear wheelhouse liner enough to access the rear brake hose fitting.

4.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pipe Fitting(1) - Disconnect.

5. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Brake Hose Retainer(1) - Remove.

Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Remove.

Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (1)@ Brake Hose Fitting (2) - Remove and DISCARD[2x].

9. Plug the caliper inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Rear Brake Hose(1) - Remove.

Installation Procedure

Rear Brake Hose(1) - Install.

Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (1)@ Brake Hose Fitting (2) - Install NEW[2x].

CAUTION: Fastener Caution

Brake Hose Fitting Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

Brake Hose Retainer(1) - Install.

Brake Pipe Fitting(1) - Install and tighten 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

6. Rear Wheelhouse Liner - Install.

7. Bleed the brake system.

8. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
