Procedure
Unlock the retaining tabs.

- Air Inlet Grille Water Deflector
Procedure
Release the integral clips and remove the water deflector from the dash
panel plenum rotating up
and out.
WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedure
Open and support the hood.
- Windshield Wiper Arm Nut Cap
Procedure
Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to release the cap from the wiper
arm.
- Windshield Wiper Arm Nut
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution.
Tighten
38 N.m (28 lb ft)
- Windshield Wiper Arm
Procedure
- Grasp the outer end of the wiper arm and gently rock the arm back
and forth while
holding the wiper blade off the windshield.
- Lift the arm assembly from the wiper motor pivot shaft.
- Clean the knurls on the wiper motor pivot shaft with a soft wire
brush.

Tighten
10 N.m (89 lb in)
- Rear Window Wiper Arm
Procedure
- Use the J-39822 Wiper Arm Puller to remove the windshield wiper arm
from the
windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.
- Clean the pivot shaft knurls with a soft wire brush before
installing a new windshield
wiper arm.
- Align and position the wiper arm on the wiper motor pivot shaft.
- Cycle the wiper arm with a spray of solvent, PARK the wiper arm and
re-check the
alignment of the wiper arm.

Procedure
- Slide the windshield wiper transmission inboard to release the
grommet from the plenum.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the windshield wiper transmission from the vehicle.
- Transfer components as necessary.
