Buick Regal: Front Brake Pipe Replacement - Right Side

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION: Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution

1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

2. Without draining the coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank.

3.

Hydraulic Brakes

Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect.

4. Plug the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Release.

6.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Release.

7. Clip(2) - Release.

8. Raise and support the vehicle.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1)@Side Rail - Release.

10.

Hydraulic Brakes

Brake Pipe Fitting(1)@Brake Hose - Disconnect.

11. Cap the brake hose to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

12. Brake Pipe - Remove.

Installation Procedure

1. Brake Pipe - Install.

Hydraulic Brakes

CAUTION: Fastener Caution

Brake Pipe Fitting(1)@Brake Hose - Install and tighten18 N.m (13 lb ft).

3.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1)@Side Rail - Secure.

4. Lower the vehicle.

5.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Secure.

6. Clip(2) - Secure.

7.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Secure.

8.

Hydraulic Brakes

Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Install and tighten18 N.m (13 lb ft).

9. Radiator Surge Tank Replacement - Install.

10. Bleed the brake system.

FRONT BRAKE PIPE REPLACEMENT - LEFT SIDE

Removal Procedure

WARNING: Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION: Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution

1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

Hydraulic Brakes

Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect.

Clip(1) - Release.

6. Raise and support the vehicle. 7.

Clip(1)@Side Rail - Release.

Brake Pipe Fitting(1)@Brake Hose - Disconnect.

9. Cap the brake hose to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

10. Brake Pipe - Remove.

Installation Procedure

1. Brake Pipe - Install.

Hydraulic Brakes

CAUTION: Fastener Caution

Brake Pipe Fitting(1)@Brake Hose - Install and tighten18 N.m (13 lb ft).

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1)@Side Rail - Secure.

4. Lower the vehicle.

Hydraulic Brakes

Clip(1) - Secure.

6.

Hydraulic Brakes

Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Install and tighten18 N.m (13 lb ft).

7. Radiator Surge Tank Replacement - Install.

8. Bleed the brake system.
